Flexible Payment: New Invoice Option and All Payment Methods at Chorilo

Managing a choir comes with many challenges, and financing the necessary tools shouldn't be one of them. That's why at Chorilo, we've placed great importance on offering as many payment methods as possible from the very beginning. With the introduction of the new invoice option, we're now expanding this offering with another flexible possibility.

All Payment Methods at a Glance

Chorilo supports a wide range of payment methods processed through our payment partner Stripe. In addition to classic credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, we also accept modern digital payment methods. Apple Pay enables fast and secure payment directly from iPhone or Mac, while Google Pay offers the same convenience for Android users. Amazon Pay is interesting for anyone who wants to use their payment details stored with Amazon without having to enter them again.

For European choirs, we offer many local payment methods. SEPA Direct Debit enables convenient debits directly from your bank account and is the preferred payment method for recurring payments in Germany and many other European countries. iDEAL is the leading payment method in the Netherlands and enables secure direct transfers. Bancontact is widely used in Belgium and offers a familiar payment option for Belgian choirs.

We also offer Klarna, which is popular in many European countries and enables various payment options. Link is another modern payment method that allows payment with just one click once you've stored your details. Revolut Pay rounds out the offering for users of the popular finance app. This variety ensures that virtually every choir can find a suitable payment method, regardless of country or preferred payment method.

New: Payment by Invoice

We now also offer the option to pay by invoice. We developed this option because we know that many choirs are organized as registered associations and handle their finances through traditional banking channels. Not every association has a credit card, and not every treasurer wants to use their personal card for association expenses. The invoice option closes this gap and makes Chorilo accessible to even more ensembles.

The principle of invoice payment differs fundamentally from a classic subscription. While a subscription is automatically renewed and payment occurs regularly, the invoice option works more like a prepaid system. The choir decides how many months they want to use Chorilo and receives a corresponding invoice. Once this invoice is paid, the booked months are credited to the account. There's no automatic renewal, no recurring charges, and no surprises on the bank statement.

How Invoice Payment Works

The process is straightforward and transparent. In Chorilo's billing section, the administrator selects the desired duration: three months for €30, six months for €60, or twelve months for €100. The annual option comes with an attractive discount. Based on this selection, an invoice is automatically generated containing all relevant information: the invoice amount, bank details for the transfer, and a unique reference number for payment allocation.

After receiving the invoice, the choir has 14 days to transfer the amount. Once payment is received, the booked months are manually added to the Chorilo account. Since this process is done by hand, it may take a few business days until the credit is visible on the account. The choir can then use Chorilo without restrictions for the booked period. Shortly before the booked time expires, the administrator receives a reminder so they can request a new invoice in time.

What happens if the invoice isn't paid within 14 days? In this case, the invoice is automatically cancelled. There are no reminder fees, no collection costs, and no negative consequences. The choir can request a new invoice at any time when they're ready to pay. This generous policy acknowledges the reality that decision-making processes in associations sometimes take longer than planned.

Why a Subscription Is Still the Better Choice

The invoice option offers flexibility and control, but for most choirs, a classic subscription is the better choice. The most important reason is continuity. With a subscription, you don't have to worry about expiration dates, request invoices, or make transfers. Chorilo simply works, month after month, year after year, without you having to take care of it.

This peace of mind is worth more than you might initially think. Imagine your choir's usage period ending in the middle of concert season, and the treasurer is on vacation. With a subscription, that wouldn't be a problem because payment happens automatically. With the invoice option, someone would have to take action, request an invoice, initiate the transfer, and wait for the credit. In the hectic everyday life of a choir, such things can easily be overlooked, and suddenly the choir is without access to its events, sheet music, and notifications.

Another advantage of the subscription is planning security. You know exactly what Chorilo costs and can firmly plan this amount in your budget. Last but not least, subscribers also benefit financially: those who choose the annual subscription save two full months compared to monthly payment. This savings of almost 17 percent adds up to a considerable amount over the years, which can be better invested in sheet music, concert attire, or shared activities.

Which Option Is Right for Whom?

The invoice option is ideal for choirs that cannot or don't want to set up automatic debits for organizational reasons. Some associations have strict requirements for their financial management that require manual approval of every payment. For these choirs, the invoice option is a welcome alternative that makes Chorilo accessible in the first place.

For all other choirs, we recommend the classic subscription. It's more convenient, more affordable, and ensures you never have to think about payment again. Once set up, it runs in the background and allows you to focus entirely on your choir work. Automatic renewal ensures you never have to go a day without Chorilo, and the ability to cancel at any time still gives you the flexibility you need.

Security for All Payment Methods

Regardless of which payment method you choose, you can rely on the highest security standards. All payments are processed through Stripe, one of the world's leading payment service providers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest security standard in the payment card industry. Your payment data is transmitted encrypted and never stored on our servers.

Conclusion: More Choice for Every Choir

With the introduction of the invoice option, we're significantly expanding the range of payment options at Chorilo. Whether you appreciate the convenience of Apple Pay, prefer the familiarity of a credit card payment, or need the control of a manual transfer, you'll find the right option at Chorilo. Our goal is to make using Chorilo as simple and accessible as possible so you can focus on what you do best: making music together.
