Community data export

What is this?

The data export delivers all community-related data as a ZIP archive. With it Chorilo fulfills your right to data portability under GDPR Article 20 — you can download all your content and take it to another service if you wish.

How to request an export

1. Open Community > Settings > Data export.
2. Click "Request export".
3. Choose the scope:
   • Complete: profile data, posts, comments, images, likes, followers
   • Posts & images only (smaller download)
   • Profile data only (very small)
4. Confirm — the build begins immediately.

You receive an email as soon as the download is ready. The link is valid for 7 days.

What is in the export

• profile.json — username, display name, bio, settings
• posts.json — all your posts with date and hashtags
• comments.json — all your comments
• images/ — folder with all uploaded images in original resolution
• likes.json — list of all your likes
• followers.json — list of your followers and following list (usernames, no emails)
• reports.json — your own reports and appeals
• README.txt — description of the files

Permission

No special rights needed — you only ever export your own data.

Tips

• Before deleting your profile definitely make an export — deleted data cannot be restored.
• Save the download promptly, the link expires after 7 days.
• JSON files can be opened with any text editor or professional tools — but they are mainly intended for machine processing.
• For very active profiles the export can be several GB (mainly because of images) — check free storage space beforehand.
