Gleicher Text, aber andere, frühere musikalische Gestalt Die WoO-34-Version ist: volksliednäher, schlichter leichter gesetzt in Harmonik und Stimmführung weniger chromatisch, weniger „romantische Spannung“ Der Satz wirkt direkter und unkomplizierter als die spätere op. 52-Fassung Brahms hat das Lied später stilistisch verfeinert und dann in op. 52 aufgenommen – die WoO-Fassung ist so etwas wie die „Skizze mit eigener Farbe“. Text & Stimmung: Volksliedcharakter der Frühromantik Nacht als Ort der Sehnsucht Zarte Hoffnung in der Begegnung zweier Liebender Leise Erwartung – stilles Herzklopfen unter dem Mantel der Nacht. Musikalische Merkmale (WoO 34): Homophon, sehr verständlich im Text Weiche, geschmeidige Linien Wiegende Bewegungsimpulse, die durchaus an 6/8-Atmosphäre erinnern 👉 auch hier ist der Ursprungstat 2/4, aber der musikalische Atem darf „wiegen“ Wirkung: zart, schlicht, natürlich – ein stimmungsvolles Volksliedbild Schwierigkeitsgrad & Chorarbeit: Leicht bis mittelschwer Ideal für: Amateurchöre Programme mit Volksliedbearbeitungen Probenschwerpunkte: Textklarheit, weiche Vokale → Nachtfarbe Eleganter Legatofluss Leichte Dynamik – kein schweres Gewicht auf den Phrasen Einsatz im Konzert: Sehr gut als ruhige Station in Liebes- und Nachtprogrammen Sommer- und Serenadenkonzerten Stimmiger Partner zu: Brahms: Es geht ein Wehen (op. 62/6) Mendelssohn: Nachtchöre Publikumswirkung: freundlich-sanfte Stimmung, feine Romantik ohne Pathos. Kurzfazit: Bei nächtlicher Weil WoO 34/3 ist eine schlichte, aber sehr poetische Frühfassung eines Brahms-Liedes: volksliednahe Innerlichkeit, warm und still – ideal für romantische Abendprogramme.

The licence covers rehearsing and performing through Chorilo. External performance rights (e.g. GEMA, PRS — where applicable) remain unaffected.
