Parent link

The choir app for children's and youth choirs

One parent, one login, all the kids: parents accept or decline for their children, see events and notifications and vote in polls. The choir leader gets responses instead of chasing people by phone. Try it free for 60 days.

How do parents in a children's choir respond for their kids?

In Chorilo, the choir leader links a parent with their children in the choir. The parent logs in once, taps Attend on the event and picks their own children in the “Who do you want to respond for?” window. Parents see everything their children see, including events meant only for the child's voice part, find their children's open responses on their own dashboard and vote in polls on the children's behalf. Children without their own email address get a family address, so all mail goes to the parent.

What goes wrong in children's choirs today

Three kids, three logins

Parents with several children in the choir have to log in separately for each child, or the response never gets sent.

Parents out of the loop

When is the extra rehearsal, what was announced, where is the performance? Kids don't pass on the notes, and parents find out too late.

Responses via WhatsApp

Yeses and noes trickle into the parents' group, the choir leader counts them by hand and spends rehearsal day on the phone.

What the parent link in Chorilo does

Parents respond for all their kids

One tap on Attend, a “Who do you want to respond for?” window, tick Lina and Jonas, done. Polls work the same way: one vote per child.

Children without their own email address

Every child is a regular member of the choir but doesn't need their own login. Through the family address, invitations and reminders reach the parent.

Parents see what their kids see

The children's events, notifications and polls show up for the parent, even the sectional rehearsal just for the sopranos. Parents ask questions under their own name.

Both sides agree

A link only connects members of the same choir and never opens a door into a choir. If a child or a parent starts it, the other side confirms. Only the parent can remove it.

Set up in four steps

  1. The choir leader switches on Parent link under Choir settings › General.
  2. The choir leader invites the parent as a member of the choir and ticks “Do not automatically add to events”, so the parent doesn't show up as pending for new events.
  3. When adding the child, they choose the parent under “Guardian”. The family address is filled in for you and the link is active right away.
  4. At the next event, the parent taps Attend and picks the children. The participant list shows the children as attending.

You'll find the details in the help under Parent link at a glance.

Run your children's choir with Chorilo

The parent link is part of the complete choir platform: rehearsal planning with responses and attendance, sheet music, notifications, polls and cashbook. A children's or youth choir runs as its own choir or as a sub-ensemble of the main choir. All data is stored in Germany and is GDPR-compliant.

Frequently asked questions about the children's choir app

Does every child need their own email address?

No. The choir leader adds the child with a family address that leads to the parent's inbox. The child is still a full member of the choir, with their own voice part and their own response.

Can parents see their children's chats and personal data?

No. Parents see the events, notifications and polls their children see, and respond on their behalf. The child's chats, profile and personal data stay with the child. In chats and comments, parents always write under their own name.

Can both parents respond?

Yes. A child can be linked with several guardians, and a parent with several children. The event's attendance history shows who responded last.

Does the link give a parent access to the choir?

No. A link only connects members of the same choir. If you want parents in the choir, invite them like any other member. If the child sings in a second choir the parent isn't part of, the link has no effect there.

What happens when the child turns 18?

Nothing ends on its own. The parent decides when the child carries on alone and removes the link in their own profile. Alternatively, the choir leader removes the parent from the choir.
