Late April 2026: Bluetooth Pedal, Association Area and Singing Career

Following the mid-month April update, the second part brings numerous features that have been added over the past two weeks. The highlights are the Bluetooth page pedal in the app, more flexible RSVP responses for events, the new singing career for members and the choir association area for umbrella organisations. On top of that come video call links for events, editing and deleting in chat as well as many further improvements across the web and app.

Bluetooth Page Pedal

In the mobile app, sheet music pages can now be turned using a Bluetooth pedal. Anyone sitting at the piano or playing an instrument with both hands can switch between pages hands-free without losing the rhythm. The pedal must be configured in its own settings to send the left and right arrow keys – Chorilo recognises these key presses and turns the page forwards or backwards accordingly. The function is available from app version 1.9.4 onwards. Particularly valuable for choir directors and accompanists who are continuously playing during rehearsals or performances and have no free hands.

Late RSVP for Events

Sometimes members only decide at short notice or even during an ongoing rehearsal whether to take part. With the new grace period, you can specify per ensemble how many minutes after the scheduled start of an event the response can still be changed. This way, late confirmations can still be reflected in the system without the participant list losing its meaning. The grace period applies to both web and the mobile app and is configured in the ensemble settings.

Singing Career per Member

In the member profile, you can now record the periods during which a member sang in which choir. Multiple entries are possible – for instance if someone previously sang in another choir, took a break or moved between ensembles. From these periods, Chorilo automatically calculates a member's total active singing time. This is particularly relevant for anniversaries: 10, 25 or 50 years of choir singing can be reliably documented, even if the person was not continuously part of a single ensemble. Boards and choir directors thus always have a solid basis for honours and ceremonial speeches.

Choir Association Area

Choir associations and umbrella organisations get their own area in Chorilo, where multiple affiliated ensembles can be managed across the board. Associations see their member choirs in a central overview, can send notifications to all or selected choirs, view statistics and set up staff with dedicated permissions. For member choirs, the connection is voluntary and transparent: they decide for themselves whether to join an association. Association notifications appear both in the mobile app and in the web application in their own inbox, separate from ensemble-internal messages.

Video Call Link for Events

For every event, an optional video call link can now be added – for hybrid rehearsals where individual voices or sick members are connected via video, or for purely online meetings. The link is prominently displayed in the event details and can be opened with a single click. Which platform is used (Zoom, Jitsi, Microsoft Teams, BigBlueButton or others) is up to the ensemble itself.

Editing and Deleting in Chat

Your own chat messages can now be edited or deleted afterwards – in both direct and group chats. Typos, wrong dates or accidentally sent messages can be corrected in seconds, without follow-up messages being needed for clarification. Edited messages are marked as such, deleted messages disappear for all participants.

Event Tasks: Favorites and Custom Reminders

The task lists for events have been extended in two ways. Recurring tasks can now be saved as favorites and reused on the next event with one click – this saves typing for regular setups such as stage build, soundcheck or wardrobe list. Additionally, individual tasks can be given their own reminders, independent of the event reminder itself. This way you can be reminded three days before a performance to bring the concert attire.

Attaching Files from the File Library

When composing a notification or creating an event, not only fresh files from the device can be uploaded, but existing files from the ensemble's file library can be attached directly. This means a rehearsal folder or sheet music arrangement does not need to be uploaded again, but is stored once and linked everywhere. In addition, the permissions for the file library have been refined so that it can be controlled more precisely who is allowed to see or edit which folders.

Tasks on the Dashboard

From now on, tasks with a specific due date also appear on the dashboard. Anyone who has created a task for tomorrow or the day after will see it automatically at the top of the start page, without first having to navigate through the task list. This way, upcoming activities reliably stay in view.

App Improvements

The mobile app brings several detail improvements. The toolbar in the PDF viewer has been reorganised and groups frequently used functions more visibly. Profile pictures can now be tapped to be displayed enlarged, both in the member profile and in chats and comments. New additions are an integrated audio player for listening samples and a metronome that can be used during rehearsal without having to switch to a third-party app.

Further Improvements

For the SEPA direct debit export, errors are now made visible directly within the process, so that faulty mandates or missing data are immediately apparent. The export format itself has been adapted to current bank requirements. The member import now distinguishes between creating new records and updating existing ones, so that lists from external tools can be reconciled regularly without creating duplicates. For polls, the number of votes cast so far is displayed directly – this gives organisers a quick overview of the response rate. A new public events API is available for external websites and tools, allowing the events of an ensemble to be read without authentication – ideal for connections to the association website or newsletter systems. The terms of use have been updated to version 4. On top of this come many small corrections, stability improvements and detail optimisations in web and app.

We are continuously working to make Chorilo better. If you have ideas for new features or encounter problems, we would love to hear from you. Use the AI chatbot, the feature request function, or send us an email.
