April 2026: Donation Receipts, Engagement Tracking and RSVP Deadlines

The April update brings a range of important new features that significantly expand management and organisation within Chorilo. Non-profit associations can now generate donation receipts directly from the cashbook, the new engagement early warning helps identify declining attendance early on, and RSVP deadlines for events make rehearsal and concert planning more reliable. On top of that, there are extensive ticket shop improvements, a new attendance status and many further optimisations across the web application and mobile app.

Donation Receipts

Non-profit choirs and music associations can now create donation receipts directly in Chorilo. The function generates a print-ready PDF with all required information. In the new donation settings, the association enters its details once: organisation name, address, tax number, responsible tax office, exemption notice date and charitable purpose. For individual transactions in the cashbook, the donor's name and address can then be added. With one click, the donation receipt is generated as a PDF and can be downloaded immediately. This eliminates the previously necessary detour via external templates or word processing software and ensures that all mandatory information is included.

Engagement Early Warning

The new engagement early warning on the dashboard shows leaders and board members at a glance which members may be losing their connection to the ensemble. Chorilo analyses recent events and detects patterns such as multiple consecutive absences or an overall low attendance rate. For each affected member, it displays how many consecutive events they have missed and when they last attended. This allows choir directors to reach out early, before a member quietly drops out. The engagement early warning is controlled via a dedicated permission and can be made accessible to specific roles.

RSVP Deadlines for Events

When creating or editing events, a response deadline can now be set. Members should confirm or decline their attendance by this date. After the deadline passes, outstanding responses are automatically flagged, which considerably simplifies planning for choir directors and organisers. The deadline is clearly visible in the event overview, both in the web application and the mobile app. This function is particularly valuable for concerts or performances where early clarity about the line-up is needed.

Ticket Shop Enhancements

The ticket shop has received several enhancements that make concert ticket sales more professional and visible. For each event, a poster and a banner image can now be uploaded, visually enhancing the ticket shop and giving visitors an immediate impression of the event. Additionally, there is a new buy tickets button that appears on the ensemble's public website and in embed code widgets. This allows visitors to go directly from the association's website or embedded event lists to ticket purchase without having to navigate through the Chorilo platform. The ticket designer itself has also been extended and now offers more layout options for designing admission tickets.

Excused as Attendance Option

The attendance management now features a third status alongside present and absent: excused. This allows differentiation during attendance tracking of whether a member was absent without notice or had submitted an excuse. The new status is supported in both the web application and the mobile app and is also included in the attendance export. For ensembles that want to distinguish between excused and unexcused absences, this addition provides the necessary clarity.

Birthday Chat

Birthdays on the dashboard are now interactive. Clicking on an upcoming birthday directly opens a one-to-one chat with the respective member. This allows birthday greetings to be sent quickly and easily without first navigating to the members list or the chat section. This small but practical connection saves time in daily use and makes it easier to show personal attention. At the same time, the limit on displayed birthdays on the dashboard has been removed – all upcoming birthdays are now shown regardless of ensemble size.

Extended Self Registration

The self-registration for new members via invitation link now shows more profile fields. New members can already enter additional information such as address, phone number and further details during registration, which previously had to be added in the profile after signing up. This reduces the administrative effort for the choir leadership, as member data is more complete from the start.

App Improvements

The mobile app has received several improvements. The RSVP section on the event detail page has been visually redesigned and now offers a clearer presentation of attendance options. The event list remembers the scroll position, so when navigating back, the previous position is restored and lengthy scrolling is eliminated. Profile pictures can now be removed directly in the app without having to use the web application. Error handling for file downloads has been improved, and clicks on push notifications now more reliably navigate to the correct screen in the app.

Further Improvements

The columns in the cashbook have been rearranged to provide a better overview of transactions. In the members list, navigating back from a member profile restores the previous scroll position, which makes navigation considerably more comfortable, especially with longer lists. Numerous smaller bug fixes and stability improvements have also been made.
