Create new venue (with seat plan)
Create a new venue — with address, directions and optionally a detailed seat plan for concerts.
Diese Funktion ist nur im Web verfügbar.
What is this?
With the function Create new venue you create a location that your choir uses regularly or once. Once created, it can be selected any number of times for events — address, directions and all details are automatically taken over.
Optionally you can directly define a seat plan when creating — for example for concert halls where members are assigned to fixed seats. The seat plan is a free layout tool: you reproduce the hall and position seats, stage and rooms.
How to create a venue
- Go to Events > Ticketing > Venues.
- Click "+ New venue".
- Enter the base data:
- Name (e.g. "Town hall Anytown, Large hall")
- Address (street, postal code, city, country)
- Directions (e.g. "West entrance, elevator to 1st floor")
- Parking options and public transport
- Contact person on site
- Upload a photo (optional) — e.g. entrance area.
- Enable "Set up seat plan" if desired.
- Save the venue.
Set up seat plan
When you enabled the seat plan:
- Choose the hall shape (rectangular, semicircle, circle) as template.
- Define the stage (top, bottom, left, right).
- Create rows — number of rows and seats per row.
- Set areas for soprano, alto, tenor, bass by drag and drop.
- Mark special seats (e.g. soloist, pianist, conductor).
- Save the plan.
In the event you can then assign members directly to seats — with visual overview.
What you gain in the event
After creating, you can select the venue in the event and members automatically get:
- Address with map link (Google/Apple Maps)
- Directions and travel info
- Photo of the entrance area
- With seat plan: their personal seat marked
Permission
You need the permission ensemble.edit to create new venues. By default the owner and choir director have this access.
Tips
- Make the photo realistic — the entrance from the member''s perspective helps much more than a promotional photo of the hall.
- Maintain directions carefully — especially away performances with unfamiliar rooms become much more pleasant.
- Use descriptive names like "Town hall Anytown, Large hall" instead of just "Town hall" — if you use multiple rooms in the same building.
- Start the seat plan rough — you can refine it any time. Do not try to create all 800 seats at once.
